Black Bull 10 Year Old (Duncan Taylor) 700ml 50% Review
It is a lovely dram, the nose in particular really excited me. It is bottled at a generous 50% abv which is rare for whiskies at this low rrp.
The grain component is prominent but not overpowering. It says it is a limited release. Not on the bottle but actual category its picked up a medal for says it is a limited release Blend.
My Suggestion be to grab a bottle or two while they last.
A new addition to the Duncan Taylor Black Bull stable (get it?). This blended Scotch whisky has been made exclusively with malt and grain whiskies aged for at least 10 years, and has been given a finishing period in ex-rum casks, helping to bolster the spicy, fruity, caramel-y notes.
The winners of the World Whiskies Awards 2019 were announced at the Whisky Magazine Awards Dinner in London on Thursday 28th March. We are delighted to report that Black Bull 10 Year Old Rum Finish won Best Scotch Blended Limited Release.
Nose: Raisins, burnt sugar, a hint of grain softness.
Palate: Red apples dipped in honey, fiery cinnamon, black tea.
Finish: Hints of banana and ginger appear on the finish.
