Made from barley that has been heavily peated, Peatheart is the newest expression from the Knockdhu distillery. Though once the primary fuel source for drying barley, in the Highland's of Scotland few distilleries remain who produce whisky in this style. Initially very smoky on the nose, the peat gives way to a surge of ripe fruity aromas classic to the distillery - pears, citrus (lime) and apple. To taste, the fruity sweetness remains, joined by sweet vanilla, and a floral smokyness that carries through to the finish.
