This is the latest vintage release from Balblair, selected solely from casks laid down in 2005. Matured from a selection of American oak barrels, this is a great example of a light and delicate Balblair. Fragrant and soft notes of vanilla (from the American oak), green apples and sweet oranges mingles with an aromatic floral note with a very faint smokyness in the background. A rounded and wonderfully fresh single malt.
Tasting Note
Nose: Classic Balblair nose of oak-y vanilla, chocolate-y malt and light wisps of smoke.
Palate: Citrus blossom (and citrus peels) mixed with hints of barrel char spice and treacle tarts.
Finish: Fresh and spiced, with a little more floral malt.
