Ardmore ex-Marsala casks 'Cadenhead' 11 Year Old Whisky 700ml

Smoky, as anyone familiar with Ardmore would expect, is supplemented by a saltiness and some fruity notes (jack fruit, orange skin). The taste and finish are juicy and overall this dram is an excellent example of a whisky matured in ex-Marsala casks.

Nose: Smoked sausage, beach pebbles, sweet sticky BBQ sauce, coastal.

Palate: Slow cooked BBQ jack fruit, light coal soot, slight saltiness.

Finish: Burnt orange skin, juicy, good example of Marsala.

Ardmore Information

A substantial Victorian distillery, Ardmore has scale which is surprising given its gentle rural surroundings. It is also unusual due to the style of whisky it produces – a peated Highland malt.

The woodsmoke elements are balanced by a more floral nature.
