Rise is one of the limited-edition initial releases from Scapegrace.

A whisky with heritage that is older than the company itself.

A whisky from the NZ grain Laureate, this has been aged for 5 years in Virgin French Oak. A creamy whisky with hints of cinnamon and cloves. The finish is creamy, vanillin and with a touch of freshly buttered toast.

I was given a bottle of this for Christmas, and I've only had a few drams of it, but I'm not surprised that at the time of writing, it's sold out. It is both amazing and unique - I've never tasted a single malt like it. I'm not a whisky snob - my palate is as sensitive as an old boot, really - but the things I taste in this whisky are like a blend of the finest cognac with the finest whisky. There's no peat, if that's your poison, but who cares? It's just bloody lovely!
