A rather marvellous overproof dark rum from the Plantation range. Their O.F.T.D. (which stands for 'Old Fashioned Traditional Dark') is comprised of a blend of rums distilled in Barbados, Jamaica and Guyana, which has been bottled at a hefty 69% ABV. This'll be excellent for cocktails, we reckon...
Nose: Toasted brown sugar and charred oak, followed by hot clove and cinnamon.
Palate: Continued clove warmth, paired with caramelised apple and banana fritters.
Finish: Wafts of smoke drift in on the finish, but brown sugar and simmering spices dominate.
