The upward tapering shape of the massive, bulbous vessels, mouth-blown at the Eisch glassworks in the Bavarian Forest, favours the so-called nosing effect. Additionally, the glass keeps the drinking temperature of the whisky for a long time, because the thick-walled base prevents the heat of the hand from being transferred to the contents.
